Skeet Shooting
We shoot skeet on Sunday afternoons from 11:00am until 6:00pm. Also on Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Shooting is done "under the lights" during the winter months. Each September we hold a 50-bird shoot to determine the Club champion skeet shooter. As with all our skeet shoots, this event is open to the public, but only Club members can win prizes.
Turn-out on Wednesday nights in the wintertime can be sparse. It is wise to call the Club at 781-545-1510 first if you are considering shooting on a Wednesday night during the winter to see if the skeet field will be open that night.
We hold many skeet matches throughout the year. Most of the matches are of the Lucky Target variety. This gives the novice shooters a fighting chance against more experienced skeet shooters. In a Lucky Target match, white clays are interspersed with the normal orange clays. Only the white targets hit are counted for score. Cat-calls, groans and derogatory comments are the order of the day when an experienced skeet shooter misses a white bird.
Beginners are welcome — when demand is high we run special courses for beginners, taught by certified Skeet instructors. We also sell ammunition in all common gauges.
